  • Video transcripts generated from submitted content
  • Chat messages and conversations with our AI assistant
  • Video and message credit usage
  • Feature usage activity (e.g., video indexed, video deleted)
  • Uploaded video and audio files (stored temporarily for transcription)

Technical Data

We automatically collect:

  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and interactions (via privacy-focused analytics)
  • Anonymized usage identifiers for rate limiting on free tools

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card numbers or payment method details on our servers. Stripe collects and processes your payment information in accordance with their own privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the AskVideo.ai service, including AI-powered video chat
  • Generate and store video transcript embeddings to enable semantic search and AI responses

  • OpenAI / Google Gemini — AI processing for chat responses and text embeddings
  • AssemblyAI — Audio and video transcription
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery
  • MailerLite — Product update emails (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Vercel — Application hosting and basic analytics
  • Plausible Analytics — Privacy-focused website analytics (no cookies, no personal data)

We do not sell your personal information to any third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase-managed infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS/SSL.

Video transcripts and AI-generated embeddings are stored persistently to enable the chat experience. Chat session messages are stored to allow conversation continuity.

Data Retention

We retain your account data and associated content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, indexed videos, documents, and chat history from our systems.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all associated data via the Settings page
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to maintain your session and preferences. We use privacy-focused analytics (Plausible) that do not use cookies or track individuals across websites.

Children's Privacy

AskVideo.ai is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
