1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AskVideo.ai (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, free-tier users, and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

AskVideo.ai provides AI-powered tools that allow users to chat with YouTube videos, generate transcripts, create summaries, and extract insights. The Service includes:

  • A web application for indexing and chatting with YouTube videos
  • Video and audio file upload and transcription
  • A command-line interface (CLI) tool for terminal-based access
  • Free tools including a YouTube transcript generator
  • AI-powered Q&A with timestamped references

3. Accounts and Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including any API keys generated for CLI access. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription Plans and Credits

AskVideo.ai offers free and paid subscription plans. Free accounts receive a limited number of video and message credits. Paid plans provide additional or unlimited credits as described on our pricing page.

  • Credits are tracked on a monthly or annual basis depending on your plan
  • Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods unless specified
  • We reserve the right to modify credit allocations with reasonable notice

5. Payments and Billing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You may manage your subscription, update payment methods, or cancel at any time through the Settings page or Stripe customer portal.

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Violate any applicable laws, including copyright laws, when submitting content
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit systems, or access controls
  • Transmit malicious code, viruses, or any destructive content
  • Reproduce, duplicate, sell, or resell any portion of the Service without permission
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service beyond the provided API
  • Share API keys or account credentials with unauthorized parties

A breach of these terms may result in immediate termination of your account and access to the Service.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting YouTube URLs or uploading files, you grant us a limited license to process, transcribe, store, and analyze the content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of video content hosted on YouTube or other platforms. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and process the content you submit.

8. AI-Generated Content

The AI responses, summaries, and insights generated by AskVideo.ai are provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. You should verify any important information independently.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Deleting your account will permanently remove your personal information, indexed videos, documents, and chat history. Note that account deletion does not automatically cancel an active subscription — please cancel your subscription before deleting your account.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskVideo.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
